A Tale of two Hills

Two beautiful hills more same & less different in their own distinct way. Welcome the tale of my roots,a story of where my DNA & its hydrogen bonds belongs to. My dad served long & served well in the Indian Army. My dad born on 14th Feb in a village of Pauri Garhwal, Uttrakhand ..a little village 16 Km away from Lansdowne. My Mom born on 21 March in the breathtaking city of Shillong, Meghalaya. Worlds apart but its written as many people say, is the destiny that binds a person to  "The One" like invisible silver thread. My dad as a young captain sahab in the Indian Army posted in Shillong, befriends one Mr L H Pde, IAS officer at Shillong Club somewhere very very long ago at a time stopped by the hands of destiny. Their friendship progressed from friends sharing a drink in the bar ,to frequent dinner & lunches at Mr L H Pde's house. The chef for the house was young Ms Pde, the youngest of the family. The food was well appreciated by my dad, who always complimented the chef with flowers or small gifts of appreciation. A Love affair ensued therafter, love for the reason of love, Love for the sake of Love. The food was so good that on 19th Oct, my dad married the chef who i now call my Mom.

Conceited to belong to two beautiful hill station in India, both same in their beauty but yet still very different in their culture. Conceited to have the blood of two different cultures running through my veins. A beautiful mix of vibrant colors, beauty & life that beckons with the strength of the energies that flows in these celestial mountains. When the want arises to run away from the slient screaming madness of the city life i neither think nor choose from a travel guide.....I just pack my bags & go home.

A Tale of two Hills more same & less different in thier own distinct ways.
